Well this diary post is just a thought which everybody is already aware of I suppose.........but I just thought of writing it down once…
It’s about pending royalties to be paid to our bollywood folk on starting new trends which became a rage later...
Well the biggest impact I saw in my time was with the release of Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayengeyin in the year 1995...
The tight fitting Jeans and those Leather Jackets worn by Shahrukh Khan in DDLJ became a rage and everybody started wearing it ......and even today in 2008 that trend still exists… before DDLJ wearing jeans was more of a style statement, but after the film released everybody and anybody just wore Jeans... Pants are just a formal wear now or it is for old unfashionable uncles...Jeans is what everyone wears now and it relates more to comfort than style...well before SRK did it in DDLJSalman Khan and Sanju Baba always wore jeans but it never became such a second nature like trend for people to wear jeans as it happened after DDLJ..
After that a huge royalty needs to be paid to Salman Khan… for what????Offcourse for all the Gyms which have opened in every street and road now...
Fitness and Body Building was never such a rage in our country I mean Salman is not the first one to do it Sanju Baba did it before him so did Dharam Paaji in 60's n 70’s people appreciated them but never followed them like they followed Salman..Watching Salman shirtless in O O Jaane Jaana made every guy aware that its not only girls who can flaunt their bodies and get attention even guys can do that…Since then the gymming trend picked up so much that almost every teenager goes to a gym for a small span of time though…. but he once attempts to look muscular… before he realizes that its not every bodies piece of cake :)….After Salman now every newcomer in bollywood needs to have a muscular physique and its mandatory now. One of my actor friends told me that people in the Film or T V Industry don’t ask you that Do u know How to Act?? their first question would be Do u go to the gym? It’s caught up so badly now that even gymming is like second nature to people….you know who should get the royalty for this one...
Well another huge royalty needs to be paid to Farhan Akhtar and his Dil Chahta hai team…
From whom?? The college goers??or Goa Tourism??
I am not talking about that I am talking about all this big moneymaking Saloon owners...
Yes what I could remember of is before Dil Chahta Hai all the guys (I am taking about guys and not girls in this one) just went to barber once in 2 months to cut their hair short
Maximum styling they could get was a Mushroom cut. There were no options neither were any of the guys aware that they could get a great makeover from their small hair…
After Dil Chahta hai the rage of SPIKED hair(Aamir’s look) and Unkept and Funky hair(Saif’s look) started and then it picked up so much that every street has got a men’s Parlour and they charge as much as they charge for a women’s haircut….
Earlier it used to be just a maximum 50 Rupee affair for men to spend on their hair but it has multiplied by five times the haircut is expensive but stylish now guys get their hair colored n get a hair spa also sometimes…Am sure there are many other things which they do but I am not totally aware of them…So what I can say before Dil Chahta hai men only had two option either grow their hair long like Sanjay Dutt or just cut them medium (mushroom cut maybe)…
So where the royalty is for Farhan and his is team all you Big Saloon owners??…:)
Well these are just some of the major trendsetters I want to write about ...there have always been trends which started because of bollywood films in our country like Madhuri style suits in Dil ToPagal Hai(I know about it coz my sis has gotta boutique in Delhi),and John Abrahams long hair in Dhoom but they all got ended with a season……..
Well bollywood is the real trend and culture setter in our country....
…Just scrapping my friends….
Cheers
