Starbucks, the largest coffeehouse company in the world, is currently the most loved among all coffee lovers.
Starbucks has now gone a step ahead after collaborating with the Swiss Federal Railways(SBB) with the intention of expanding its reach into rail travel. This was accomplished on 21 November, 2013 with the unveiling of its red and white train, which is identified by the green and white siren logo embellished on the car's exterior. The Starbucks train runs from Geneva Airport to Switzerland.
This double-decker car is the smallest espresso bar Starbucks has ever designed. Both the levels share a common theme with coffee related color and its shades. This is basically designed to render service to passengers while they are travelling and so keeping this objective in mind, the design and architecture focuses more on safety and utilization of space in the constantly moving train. The car can accmodate a total of 50 people.
The lower entrance displays a curved wooden bar with a little pastry case. It has a simple espresso machine, which is an automatic machine compared to the more stationary Starbucks.
There's a second coffee bar and lounge area, offering travellers an relaxing area to enjoy the Starbucks beverages with a unique intimate feel. There are movable club chairs covered in off-white color leather which creates a unique travelling experience. The wooden community tables give the passengers the feel that they are on a train with the groove in the middle to hold drinks in place while the train speeds around. Every table has a specially designed Swiss watch dial. The staff deliver drinks as per the numbered dials when passengers order from their tables.
It took almost two years for the construction of this Starbucks railway carriage and finally, Starbucks Experience is brought to life on train!
