Today when I was watering the plants in our college campus, FARAHA (one of the junior students) came to me and asked, “Boss can I help you”. I really felt nice and that is why I am writing this piece. Now let me tell you what the whole story is.
I am an MBA student and one of the topics which we have to study in our curriculum is “corporate social responsibility”. To fulfill our responsibility towards the society we done a “plantation pragramme” in our college and planted more than 20 plants. It was a real satisfactory experience. But something is there which I don’t like; we have 60 students in the second year and 60 in the first year as well. For last two months we and 5-6 more friends of mine are doing the job of watering the plant ad believe me its provides utmost satisfaction and elation to us when we see flowers sprouting out of those. Whenever we friends are absent, no one is there to do the job of watering and this is something which annoys me very much.
With a capacity of 120 we could not even find even 20 people who can take responsibility to do the job on a regular basis. On this topic I have asked my junior students as well the classmates several time but they behave like they are not the part of the nature and these plants are not going to anything good to them. I am not saying all of these things because I have some problem in watering the plants, I am regularly doing it and will keep serving the nature, what all I want to say is that we have to be a bit sensitive a about these sort of issue. I think we need a lot more people like “FARAHA”, who are ready to take charge and serve the society.
