Italian Davide Rebellin gained the Melinda Trophy, Saturday between Malè and Fondo, preceding the Colombian Miguel Rubiano Chavez and another Italian, Domenico Pozzovivo, four days after having gained the race of the Three Varésines Valleys.
Rebellin, 40 years, gained its first two victories since its return in competition after its two year old suspension for doping. The Italian runner, second of the race on road of the Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing behind Spaniard Samuel Sanchez, had been controlled positive with EPO Cera several months after the Plays, at the time an analysis a posteriori of its samples.
