Subject: Uncouth, rude and irresponsible attitude of Snehanjali Electronics and Appliances Pvt Ltd, located at Bonanza Arcade, SV Road, Andheri West, Mumbai - 58

I had purchased a Videocon 503 litre refridgerator from the Videocon Stall at the Times Lifestyle exhibition on Sunday 21st Feb 2010. I had paid for the same with my credit card. Before making payment, I was assured that I would receive delivery the next day (I had clearly told the staff there that my fridge had broken down and I theefore needed the delivery on urgent basis). Immediately after making payment I was told that due to heavy pressure on deliveries on Monday, my fridge would be delivered on Tuesday. Since the payment was already made, I agreed to this delay of one day.

On Tuesday (23rd Feb 2010) we were expecting a call from Snehanjali Electronics and Appliances Pvt Ltd - in whose name Videocon had booked my order- but since they did not bother to call us, my wife followed up with them mid-morning and we were told that we would receive delivery the same evening at 7 pm. Even after 7 pm when we did not receive any call, my wife followed up with them once again and was rudely told that delivery was not possible that day and that we would only receive the fridge the next evening after 7 pm. On politely enquiring why they did not have the courtesy to at least inform us of the same, the staff member (Mr.Jeet) was extremely rude and said that no matter how much we plead with them, they will deliver the fridge only the next evening. He also asked us to follow up with the store the next morning regarding the same. All this time I have no choice but to manage without a fridge.

The lesson I have learnt from this experience is simple - DO NOT MAKE ADVANCE PAYMENT BY CREDIT CARD FOR PURCHASE OF ANY CONSUMER DURABLES DURING AN EXHIBITION. AT THE MOST PAY A TOKEN ADVANCE AND THE BALANCE AGAINST DELIVERY. TODAY I AM AT THE MERCY OF THESE HIGH HANDED STUPID UNCOUTH PEOPLE JUST BECAUSE I WAS NAIEVE TO MAKE FULL PAYMENT IN ADVANCE.

I just hope they bestow a large favour on me my delivering my refridgerator at the earliest.
