I had joined my new company and used to boast that I had not taken a single leave from the 4 months I had joined. Little did I realise I was going to be proved completely wrong in my notion.

For 10-12 days I suffered with Sore throat & Fever – indications of swine flu. Initially I underwent treatment with a small doctor (BAMS) who used to charge less but was good for small ailments. I continued with his medicine for a week during which I took Antibiotics & Ayurvedic medicines. When I thought I had recovered I went onto to have a sumptuous Chinese Schezwan Fried Rice. The very next day I discontinued the medicines and got sick again. Not satisfied with his treatment I showed to a bigger hospital who was MD internal medicine. He instantly suggested me to take injections for malaria w/o even asking me to undergo tests. I wondered if he was extorting money from me, but then on insistence of family I thot of going ahead with Malaria treatment which cost me around Rs. 2000/-. Even after this treatment, I was experiencing fever & sore throat. My head used to feel terrible pain as if it will burst due to fever. Hence my family decided to do a little enquiry of some of the good doctors in Thane, and went to PARAM Hospital, THANE. I showed to Dr. Seetha Raju who suggested me some tests – blood, urine & swab. She also gave me medications. And after 3-4 hours of taking medicines I started feeling better. I felt really thankful to the doctor and her knowledge.

The time spent at home after a long-long time, brought to my knowledge-

  1. The care we get from Family members - in turn which we owe them

  2. The importance of life and being fit and doing even small things regularly thinking that what repurcussions it can have if not done.

  3. The feeling of giving back to the people who are suffering – by way of money or effort.

  4. Aiding or establishing such hospitals where patient care is utmost importance and the staff of which is well mannered & efficient in doing their service, where people dont have to wait so much, where poor people are served free of cost
