Uttar Pradesh chiefminister Mayawati unveilled 40 statues — including six of her own along with the Kanshi Ram Memorial and the Gautam Buddhasthals.

Lucknow Development Authority (LDA),built statues ofMayawati and Kanshi Ram at various places in Lucknow ,at cost Rs6.68 crore. And, the 60 marble elephants at the Ambedkar memorial cost Rs 52crore, (figures collected by news)

If the Central Govt.can not stop all this,for the obvious reasons- theSupreme Court should have BANNED all this. Isn't it FOOLISH to unveil Crores of rupees worth statues all over the State when a very large section of the people are the poorest in the country. The voters were very wise to prevent such chief minister from becoming thePrime Minister of the Country.Otherwise the consequences would have been disastrous for the whole country.

Rs. 194 crore, just for statues.? Its our money people.!!We have eleceted a team to gamble and play with our own money.. If they say its for beautification of the state, there are other sensible ways and options also. Why only development of cities which provide max.revenue to our currupt politicians.? Atleast make other places livable.!!

Why doesn't the dalit ki beti realise that instead of wasting huge amount of money in erecting her own statues.. she could have used this money in creating more oppurtunities for the Dalits and the downtrodden.. She could have really given intrest free loans to start their own business or some manufacturing units. This would help the dalits in coming up to a level platform in the society rather than demanding for Reservations.. .. The Dalits leaders are the main cause for the dalits being in such a downtrodden state

Statue of a person is generally made and installed after death only. It appears Maya wants to tell the world that she is equivalent to a dead person.(hihihihh))

WOW Keep it up...UP can become the STATUE CAPITAL of the world, and get into guiness book of records. May be Maya was inspired by Shahjahan of Taj mahal, and wants to rival him in some way!!
