Air travel faced the biggest brunt of all times by the erupting Eyjafjallajokull volcano, in Iceland that resulted in the cancellation of 100,000 flights from 14 - 21 April 2010 and about 7 million people were stranded. The interruption is calculated to have cost the airline industry approximately$2.2 billion.

Miniatur Wunderland, Hamburg, Germany, flaunts the largest train set in the world. It is displayed on a number of regions in Europe and the USA covering 1,150 square meter(12,378 square feet 71.56 square inch). By the time this is completed in 2014, this 13-mile(20.92 km) track will cover more than 2,300 square meter(24,756 square feet 143.1 square inch). It has over 11,000 carriages and wagons, 900 signals, 3,500 buildings and 200,000 figures.

The tallest lantern
This lantern was made by the Organizing Committee for the 1st Wuhan-Chengdu International Giant Panda Lantern Show in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China, on 30 March 2012. It stands tall at measured 30 meters(98 feet 5.1 inches) in length and 12 meters(39 feet 4.44 inches) in depth. It delineated the celebrated building Huanghelou in Wuhan City.

The tallest toilet roll pyramid
Ivan Zarif Neto, Rafael Migani Monteiro and Fernando Gama from São Paulo, Brazil, built the tallest toilet roll pyramid on 20 November 2012. It is 4.1 meters tall(13 feet 5 inches). Each side of the square base of the pyramid is 4.3 meters(14 feet 1 inches). It was made of 23, 821 separate rolls.

The tallest sunflower
At 8.23 meters(27 feet), world's tallest sunflower stands tall in Kaarst, Germany, on 04 September 2012. It is Hans-Peter Schiffer's from Germany. Schiffer surpassed his own record for the tallest sunflower that he previously set in 2009.

7 minutes 19 seconds is all it took the fastest colour desktop printer to print 500 sheets. It was put together by the Hewlett-Packard Officejet Pro X551dw and Officejet Pro X576dw All-in-One printers in Vancouver, Washington, USA, on 6 April 2012.

A Himalayan-Persian cross-breed called Colonel Meow holds the world record for longest fur on a cat. The two-year old has fur that reaches 22.87 centimetre(9 inches).
