Youtube Ads are just so damn irksome! While the 6 seconds bumper ads are still tolerable to a certain extent, the 30 seconds unskippable are the ones that are the most annoying.


Well, there is some good news for all the youtube addicted people out there. According to the reports, tech giant google has announced that it will kill the 30-second unskippable ad feature. Now while this might be great news for the viewers but it might just p*s off some advertisers who have become habituated with forcing their ads on the viewers


Google said in a statement to Campaign. "As part of that, we've decided to stop supporting 30-second unskippable ads as of 2018 and focus instead on formats that work well for both users and advertisers," Google spokesperson was quoted as saying in the Campaign report.


However, Since the advertisers and the viewers are equally important to the business model of Youtube, parent company google searching is now seeking out a middle ground by searching for ad alternatives which can work well for advertisers as well as the viewers.


But before you get too excited and start circulating this article, let me inform you that even though youtube will discontinue 30-second unskippable ads, it might introduce 20-second unskippable ad format. If you ask me, I am all for it. 10 seconds can make a huge difference when you are desperately waiting to play some video that catches our eye.


With other social media platforms like facebook, Instagram, snap chat also trying to leverage the increasing muscle of video content, this might be a welcome move for youtube and help it retain its top position in the space of video content
