I downloaded and burned the most-recent SimplyMepis version 3.3.1-1 and guess what? They have my modem drivers! The only bad trade-off I have now is the lights on my PCMCIA card are reversed.. the power light is the one that is flickering and should be constantly on while the link light is the on read more...

Microsoft's vision or lack of it
    Microsoft Longhorn

What achilles76 said is true, MS does make some good stuff, but guess what.. that 3-D rendering wasn't created by Microsoft, it was politely 'borrowed' from Sun Solaris. What this does to Microsoft is it helps out its sponsors such as Dell, Gateway, HP, etc. (anybody who sells computers). Prices f read more...

I think Slackware has its place, definitely, but Linux as a whole is trying to make it to the desktop to stop the monopoly known as Microsoft. Everytime I tried to install Slackware, half of my hardware would be detected. Keep in mind I'm writing this review rating as someone who's tried to instal read more...

I think Fedora is a great Linux distro, I learned what Linux I know using Red Hat 7.2. The problem with Linux in general is the same.. modem drivers, wireless drivers, printer drivers and scanner drivers.
