Indore: Police have registered a case against two builder partners for defrauding a man by selling him a flat in their project which was already sold to another.
According to the police, Abhinash Modani, a resident of Jaipur, filed a complaint stating that his father had purchased a flat from Swastik Infrastructure owned by Ankit Shrivatsava and Aman Sehgal.
The complaint further stated that he had paid Rs 16.60 lakh towards purchase price of the flat and also executed the title deed in February 2015. However, the builders delayed possession on one pretext or another.
During this time, Modani met one Vishal Upadhaya, who told him that he had purchased the flat in question long before Modani purchased it and has been paying installments since then.
Upadhaya produced a copy of an agreement and receipts of payments in support of his claim after which a police complaint was filed and the police registered the case and are investigating.
