I used Karcher products in Germany and they are known for industrial use. Very durable and reliable.
But not at all in India.
I purchased Karcher SC5 in India directly from Karcher. It started giving me trouble just after 6-7 times. Instead of steam it was spurting lot of hot water. I send it to their authorised service centre in Hyderabad. They found that pump is damaged and need to replace it. That part is not available in India and it takes 3-4 weeks to get it from out side. They kept it for 2.5 months and returned it after demonstrating that its working in their service centre. When I tried to use it after we brought it from service centre, it gave error message that the tank is empty even though it’s full. I sent it back to the service centre. They said this time PCB is burned out! Again that part is not available in India and needs to come from outside. They informed again after 1.5 month it is repaired. Every worthy part in it Pump, motor, PCB, sensors all are gone. In the mean time warranty period expired and it stayed more time in their repair centre rather than at my home. I asked them to replace the piece with a new one or refund my money 40K. They are saying it’s working now take it back. I wrote to their German customer support services as well. They always direct it to the India customer support service and all my mails lands with one Mr. Das. Their customer support service is pathetic and their authorised repair centre, where I dropped my machine first time, looked like road side repair shops and various dubious. I expressed my concern that they may even take working part of the machine as they kept it for 2.5 months.
If they do not have spare parts in India they should not sell it at all.
They tried to blame me on usage as if this is the first steam appliance that I am using.
I filed a case with consumer grievance and they are not even responding to it either. This shows how much thick skin they have.
