Roberto Benigni, Academy award director, of a academy award movie Vita è bella, La(Life is beautiful) was came up with this movie after a flop movie in 2002. As usual, this movie also has all the comedy elements and also some sentiments. This movie is too far to compare with his academy awarded one. But he tried to implement Life is beautiful’s way of stroy telling in this movie also.
Plot is simple - A divorced literature professor falls in movie with a beautiful writer(played by his real wife Nicoletta Braschi). But she was travelling to Iraq during the war period to write a biography about a poet. She got wounded and in coma there and Roberto Benigni is travelling all the way to Iraq to save her.(For best plot narration, you can read either wikipedia or imdb.:-))
You can find many similarites with Life is beautiful, in his acting, love making, sentiments and his comedies in a war zone. I very much loved Life is beautiful, not this movie. I’m sure he tried to replicate his academy awarded movie in a different way. Also, I like Braschi’s cute acting, ofcourse she is a aged actress.
Pros - Not able to remember any good scene because of the same way of screenplay(Life is beautiful)
Hmmm. I should mention about the two daughers of the divorced father. Their acting is natural and the bond between the father and them are really good.
