Amazon has cheated me by altering manufacturing date stickers and sold old and defective product.
Heres a summary of the ordeal:
I purchased a watch brand, AmazfitIN, from AmazonIN, which claimed to work for 14 days but turned out to be defective and drained within 2 days. The watch displayed two manufacturing dates: July 23 and Nov 23, clearly violating legal metrology standards.
Amazon suppressed my product review, presumably for obvious reasons.
When I complained to amazonIN, they claimed they couldnt assist and directed me to contact the seller AmazfitIN
.
AmazfitIN arranged for a pick-up through delhivery, whose representatives caused chaos at my residence. Two individuals sent by Delhivery engaged in a physical confrontation over picking up the watch.
After numerous follow-ups, the watch was eventually taken for repair by AmazfitIN and returned to me after 30 days.(Note that the warranty period was not extended despite the issue not being my fault).
This experience highlights the potential loss of peace and money when making online purchases.
Lessons learned:
Consider buying electronic products(especially battery-operated ones) from local stores.
Carefully review the warranty terms before making a purchase.
