This is an older scanner that can also scan negatives and transparencies up to 8x10 and is an inexpensive alternative to a newer model. It uses the old Centronic SCSI type connection but can be made to work with Windows 7 and LSI PCI host adapter LSI20329IE Ultra 320 using a VHDCI 68 PIN TO CENTRONICS 50 PIN (CN50) CABLE. I had trouble getting the new host adapter to see the scanner.
I purchased a new 6 foot cable and it seems to connect more reliably. I have now purchased a third cable with internal High Byte termination to see if this cable improves Windows’ ability to recognize the scanner further. During my testing I purchased a third party driver called VueScan to replace the old MiraScan driver that came with the scanner. The VueScan install seemed to cause both drivers to work properly under Windows 7 - go figure?
