Yesterday journey from Chennai to Bangalore on the KA51AK5081 bus was deeply unpleasant and marred by the driver’s unacceptable behavior. As someone new to Chennai, I unfortunately made a mistake with my initial boarding point, wrongly guided by security to a location other than Poonamalle KFC. After realizing my error, I rebooked a cab and, while only four minutes late to the correct pickup, I contacted the driver to explain the reason for the delay. However, his response was far from understanding. Instead of a calm discussion, he reacted with extreme aggression, shouting and using highly offensive language in front of all the other passengers. This was incredibly distressing and disrespectful. Furthermore, despite having paid ₹1499 per ticket, which was supposed to include snacks and a water bottle, I wasn’t even provided with a bottle of water. The journey continued uncomfortably when, despite my actual drop-off point being Makari Circle, the bus driver dropped us at Tin Factory, citing cost savings, before transferring us to another bus. Even at this point, he was rude, shouting at me and other passengers to "get down" and using derogatory language, labeling me a "loafer" for being late to the pickup point, even though my delay was explained and brief. I find it disturbing that he felt it was acceptable to use such abusive language towards a passenger, especially as I did not speak disrespectfully or engage in any argument with him. I urgently require an explanation for his behavior and whether this reflects the typical customer service or culture of Greenline buses. Is it acceptable to treat customers, even those who are a few minutes late due to unforeseen circumstances, with such blatant disrespect and vitriol? This experience has left me feeling incredibly disappointed and upset.
