Amritlal is a traditional man who wants to control everything and uphold traditional values. Amritlal is afraid that his familys reputation will be harmed if Jairaj becomes a dancer.

Latas parents argue with her about her career as a dancer after marriage because they believe that dancing is not a suitable profession for men. Amritlal, Latas father, believes that dance is not a way to earn money and that it is not a suitable profession for men. He tries to divert his son Jairaj from dance.
