In my school and college days I played a lot of cricket. Later I got addicted to Basket Ball Now I am a regular at the gym for a month or so and then relax and eat like mad for a month. When I find that I am beginning to get shapeless, I get back to it with full vigour.
Now my latest craze is Golf. I am a 6 days a week golfer now. Though I have a double digit handicap, I hope to bring it down to single digit soon.
I am easy going and friendly and I love making friends, chatting to people and having a good laugh.
What do I say about myself. I am 54years old, 5’10”, 78 KG, married for 27years, have two daughters aged 23 and 20. I am a graduate and have done a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IGNOU and a Post Graduate Diploma in IT from NIIT.
My father was in the Indian Air Force and I too am in a transferable job, so I had the opportunity to travel the length and breadth of the country. I never stayed at any place for more than two to three years so in a sense I do not have roots anywhere. The travelling did broaden my horizon and helped me understand the country, its people and the diverse cultures , but in a sense I feel a loss. I do not belong to any particular place. Although I am from Allahabad, I have never studied there nor stayed there. I only spent my holidays there. Other than relatives I do not know any one in Allahabad. I see guys who say that so and so is a childhood friend and they have studied together and known each other for the past 35 years and so on. I feel it is marvelous. I have not known anyone for more than 2-3 years. Everywhere I go I start afresh and in 2-3 three years it is time to say bye bye and severe the links. Although I have friends all over the country, yet once the contact is broken and not renewed for many years, the link gets weak.
. I love reading though no heavy stuff. I use heavy stuff as a sleeping pill just before going to bed if I am not getting sleep. It really works better than any sleeping pill. My favourite authors are Sydney Sheldon, Jeffry Archer, Robert Ludlum, Leon Uris, Arthur Hailey, Irving Wallace, Robin Cook, Alistar MacLean. I have read most of their works. Of late I have overcome the urge to read novels and have started reading books on self inprovement. I realise what I was missing and the amount of time I have wasted reading novels. Rich Dad Poor Dad was the first of the series. I love to write too, although I do not have the patience to write a long thesis. A few sentences, a paragraph or a page or two at the most. I have been writing letters to editors of news papers and magazines and now reviews here at MouthShut. If I had the patience I would have written a novel??? I don’t know. Probably yes.
