Yes, i think he had a good memory, he remembered his childhood days, the incidents that taught him valuable lessons during his childhood days, his friends in school to the people he had at his ashram.
Gandhi memory was good because gandhi ji remembers all moments which spent in childhood. He remembered Shravanas death. He remembred school old memories regarding teacher lessons and punishments.

The book was written in weekly journals in Gujrati called "Navjivan " and also in English in the journal called "Young India ". The book was published in two volumes 1st in the year of 1927 and 2nd in the year of 1929. later in 1940, Mahadev Desai translated the book into English. extra: In 1999 the book was designated as one of the 100 most spiritual books in the 20th century. His fellow prisoner Jeramdas insisted M.K Gandhi to write his autobiography.
It is Truth autobiography of Mohandas K. Gandhi. It was written in weekly installments and published in his journal Navjivan from 1925 to 1929. It was written by Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.
The main writer is Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. he wrote i Gujarati language but translated in English by the author Mahadev Desai.
