The writer shows that what happens to a small town when some of its residents commit a terrible crime. It is an unflinching examination of just how exactly rape culture comes to exist. This story inspired by real events from Aaron Hartzler takes an unflinching look at silence as a form of complicity. The innocence people that so often gets blurred, one hundred and forty characters at a time.

What The author's objective and audience
This book is about sexual assault and rape, rape culture, the silencing of women, and sexism. The author despite the difficult subject matter it was really well written and to be honest it did a great job in showing that even in a case that should be black and white, right and wrong, there is inevitably a large grey area smack bang right in the middle for many who get sucked in. The story based off the Steubenville High School rape case. Aaron Hartzler handled this topic very well.
