I am a hardcore whiskey lover. I use to take chances with new brands every now and then. But this one came as a surprise for me. Standing at a liquor shop, I was looking for something new which I hadn’t tasted yet. Then the round shaped nice looking packaging made a good first impression. When I read the labels, I was very impressed. The bottle has some very nicely written words about why the whiskey is named 100 pipers.
It says that according to a Scottish Legend, when one experiences something true and exceptional, one can hear 100 Pipers which reminds me off the movie"Braveheart"and the brave Scottish people.
I have this habit of smelling the whiskey before drinking. I will suggest u to smell it once, just to feel the uniqueness of it. The taste is also better than some related brands like Signature, BP, and even VAT69.it is not bitter at all.It has a taste like a glass of water with just 5-6 drops of lemon. Can say it has a very light sour taste. The finish is not very long and leaves your mouth completely dry. You can easily have it on the rocks or a small quantity of plain water. On the rocks is recommended though. The very first peg hits a bit harder. And I too became afraid that it would be difficult to have more than 3-4 pegs. But it grew smoother with every peg and I finished around 40% of the bottle. The hit went missing from the bottle after the 1st peg. When I had enough, I roam around for an hour and then went to bed. It was a big bang and my mind started feeling relaxed and floating. It was a very soothing experience.Wasnt like when one is very drunk. It was more like a relaxed and quick nap. I woke up after an hour and everything was gone. I felt like I hadn’t had a single drink. It was an exceptional finish. Moreover; it has no after smell.Taking all these positives into your mind, do u think I need to recommend it?
At last, as far as price is concerned, the 750ml bottle costs around 1000rs in Delhi and 700 in Chandigarh. It is worth its price. One more thing which I have noticed 1 or 2 times while drinking outside, is about opening the bottle. I have seen some people getting a fool made of them because they were not sure about how to open the outside round packaging. So, keep in mind that for the outside part the cap is not as thick as it may seem.U may wonder twisting and turning it and it won’t open. So keep in mind that upper lid is just of a thickness of a 1rs coin. Grip it and lift it straight up. Like we do when a small plate is put on a glass of water
Enjoy the company of 100 pipers.
