This is my second review on this website. The first one was well received and I saw that it helped other readers in more ways than one. This has encouraged me to write of my experiences at other places where we spend our time and money so that we all do not waste either!
I have been a customer to most of the Pubs in Pune on and off for past ten years. A lot of these Pubs/ disco’s have opened and closed or with changed managements their service has deteriorated. However 1000 Oaks is one place which has been consistent for all this time in their **Good choice of music and their good customer service.
*1000 Oaks is a Pub and not a Disco, thus if you want to shake your legs you should choose another place. But if listening to good music from a fantastic acoustic system, having a couple of drinks with your friends, have a good dinner with wide choice of food is your idea of fun, 1000 Oaks is an ideal place to spend your evening. This place has a good mix of crowd and you will not feel out of place at anytime.
They have a valley parking service, so no need to look around for a parking space which is slightly difficult to find at that hour.
Entry is a slight problem for Stags (Males unaccompanied by females) on Friday and Saturday nights but if you are a couple or family you will pay a cover charge of Rs. 300 per couple which is fully redeemable inside for food or drinks.
With this latest scenario in Pune of all the Pubs closing by 11.30, if you want to enjoy an hour or two, you should reach there by 8.30 - 9. The staff is courteous and helpful. The service gets a bit slow when the place gets over crowded. If you are with your family you can sit outside in the open area.
Else you can sit in the Pub area where you have a choice of sitting by the bar or small tables which seat four to six people.
Another good thing about this place is DJ Abhishek Mantri and DJ Denzel. They play good music which gets better with the evening and they also try to accommodate song requests. So if you want to dedicate a song to your lady love please give it a try.
The place lacks two things. Firstly its toilets are inadequate for the number of patrons, especially the ladies toilet where you will always see a line all evening! Secondly the exhaust system in the pub area is bad. When over crowded and with all the smoke, the place gets a bit stuffy.
All in a good place to spend the evening and chill out!
