Enjoyed every moment of this film ‘102 NOT OUT’. Its a lesson for every son, daughter, mother, father. An adaptation of the famous Gujarati play based on the same name, the film touches some finer emotions of life and prods you to look at life and living it the right way.
The film revolves around a father and son. The son(Babulal Vakharia) played by Rishi Kapoor is 75 years old and is often marooned in his own boredom and inane thoughts. His father(Dattatraya Vakharia) played by Amitabh Bachchan is 102 years old and is all set to beat the world record of the longest living man on this planet. But, he is really upset with his son’s crabby behaviour towards life and wants him to live life to the fullest like him. To bring his son back to real living, he throws various challenges at him, ably aided by Dhiru(Jimit Trivedi). How Babulal solves these tasks and what he overcomes forms the crux of the film.
The camaraderie between Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor is worth watching. At times, the film drags and you feel as though a play is being replayed on the screen, but the power packed performances keeps you glued.
