’’12B’’ name itself sounds different.And even the movie is quite different when compared with other movies.The Caption for this movie is ’What if Life took an unexpected turn ?’ yesterday I was feeling very bad and thought to see some movie for refreshment. While we are planning to get CD we got bored of routine telugu/hindi movies and thought to go for tamil this time.
We heard something strange about 12B when we are doing our engineering and got this CD. Oh God Really different movie and for a while I got confused also.Though I can’t speak tamil I can understand it very clearly. But I got confused not because of language because of their roles.
Let me explain you clearly:
Story:
Generally in any movie when hero thinks about heroin or viceversa immediately that person will be showed in the screen and particularly the introduction shot will be good. In this Movie Hero will play double role.Hey one sec, its not like normal double action roles.Have you ever wondered like ’’what if I do this and what if I dont do this’’. Now you people dont wonder why I am telling this. Because this is the theme of this story.
Sakthi who is looking for a job goes to attend some interview in a big company.Before that he just goes to temple and there he happens to see jyothika and gets attracted to her.Then he has to catch the 12B bus and need to attend the interview. But within a fraction of seconds he miss that 12B bus.Here exactly at this point story is rewinded few seconds back and the director narrates the story in 2 ways.One is if he catches the 12B bus and attends that interview and the other is if he miss that how his life goes on which is not at all practical. So now sakthi plays two roles.For just not getting confused let us take as A and B.
A who got the bus also gets the bank job and settles very nicely with a car.Many times he sees jyothika but every time he misses the opportunity to talk to her and develops one side love towards her.At the same time priya who is his colleague develops some liking towards him.............
B who misses the bus returns back in disappointment and his friend madhava who has mechanic shed gives him a small job as mechanic.This B expresses his love towards Jyothika.one of the relatives aravind also loves Jyothika.
Hey are you people in confusion.......I dont want to confuse you more.I feel like some programming concepts, Analytical skills rotating in my mind
The next story goes like who gets whom under what circumstances and with unexpecting twists.
Casting
Shaam, newcomer acts as Sakthi, Simran acts as priya and jyothika with the same name.Kudos to shaam who played his double role very well and even he looks good in the entire movie.Simran’s action particularly her expressions are wonderful.Jyothika, I suppose no need to tell about her.But both simran and jyothika competed in the action.Vivek who acted as comedian and A’s sorry Shaam’s friend also did his best and makes us laugh thru out the movie.Moon Moon Sen acted as Jyothika’s mother and Sunil shetty acted as Arvind. Everyone did their best and did justice to their roles.
Direction
Jeeva is the director of this movie.Actually I dont know about this director that much.But only thing I know is he is an cinematographer and thru this movie he turned into a director.Though this is his first film he did very good job. This theme is actually stolen from english movie ’’SLIDING DOORS’’.Only difference is there heroin plays double role where as here its ulta.
Music
Harris Jayaraj played a good role in making it success.Hope everyone might have heard about ’’vaseegara’’ song(tamil) which was done by him.But For some songs I couldn’t understand them properly.May be its my problem.Also some small songs appear with english lyrics in the middle of movie which are good.
Choreography done by rajusundaram and harris adding some special sounds made this movie more better.Even the background music is taken care by harris perfectly.Jeeva’s camera work and screenplay is excellent in this movie..
Altogether this is a good entertaining movie to watch.But jeeva or atleast editors should have taken care of some scenes/shots.Narration of double roles should have been more clear to avoid confusion. Some scenes like jyothika sends some white color ballon where it turns to pink when shaam catches. And particularly if I need to point out something ’’car chasing scene with double shaam’s and jyothika each in different color car’’ is very very confusing.
Sunil shetty’s action is not that much good in this movie.The dubbing voice given to him and his expressions are not in Sync.’12B’ is a movie with a different story, clean direction, balanced with some comedy and some good songs. I am sure everyone feels the other side of life after watching this.
