Hello, I watched the movie 1921 and I must admit in this review that I did not feel anything fresh or unprecedented about everything shown in this movie.
The plot is basically presented in a twisted format which is what all previous prequels had common in them. The story is not so convoluted as it is presented in this series. This concept might have worked the first time but repeating the same formulae in an overdose of sequels is unwise, though the makers dont seem to understand this completely.
The movie revolves around a piano player played by Karan Kundra who rents a big bunglow for himself. How the hell could a man think of living in 10, 000 sq ft bunglow alone, it does not makes sense even for any Ambani kind of rich boy. By the way, who would pay a huge rent for a normal life and more so when you are not even professional in your field. Karan Kundras character apparently comes to London to learn paying piano. A struggler with such a powerful bank balance that he can afford luxurious bunglows all by himself for himself alone.
Then as usual, bunglow turns out to be a haunted one which is really something we have never seen in movies. The fresh concept for a bollywood movie though is that female protagonist Zarine Khan is an excorcist who could see and talk to ghosts since her childhood days. So our haunted single man pleads seeks her help and they had a love affair all along.
To my amazement, Zarine Khan who had been seeing and talking with Ghosts all her life is horrified the most on seeing a ghost every time it appears before her. But logic is the least you shall expect in a movie.
There are some horror scenes which can excite you but it becomes irritating after first half. The movie needed a better narration because the story had potential enough to make for a good horror movie. But alas, Director Vikram Bhatt did not choose the better way and rather went for twisting the story on its head to give it a thriller touch. There are too many songs which all are very similar to ears and break the flow of story which was already pale.
You shall not watch it and you will not miss anything fresh that you could have watched!
