1942- A Love Story** album have total eight songs to touch ur heart. Blending the beautiful poetry with the backdrop of 1942 is not an easy job for a music director because it must not sound anywhere that its a music of modern times .... believe me RD has done Magical job with his instruments .... he kept the innocense alive in all his songs ... A real justice to the wonderfully written poetry of javed Akhtar.
Ek ladakee ko dekhaa to aisaa lagaa:-Wow amazing lyrics !!! for me it is the height of emotions of a lover, when he first look at her girl ( This song makes u believe in love at first sight)....the song in the voice of Kumar sanu , I think it is the best of kumar sanu ... ( I doubt RD must have missed Kishore da for this song )
*Ek ladakee ko dekhaa to aisaa lagaa
jaise khilataa gulaab jaise shaayar kaa khwaab
jaise ujalee kiran jaise ban mein hiran
jaise chaandanee raat jaise namree kee baat
jaise mandir mein ho yek jalataa diyaa
Ek ladakee ko dekhaa to aisaa lagaa
jaise subah kaa rup jaise sardee kee dhoop
jaise beenaa kee taan jaise rango kee jaan
jaise balakhaaye bel jaise laharon kaa khel
jaise khushaboo liye aaye thhandee hawaa
Ek ladakee ko dekhaa to ayesaa lagaa
jaise naachataa mor, jaise resham kee dor
jaise pariyon kaa raag jaise sandal kee aag
jaise solaa singaar, jaise ras kee puhaar
jaise aahistaa aahistaa badhtaa nashaa
Kuchh na Kaho:-** Kuch na kahoo had Three viersion in the film ...
one is sad song in Kumar sanus voice .... kumar sanu has sung very nicely & specially the ups and downs of pitch as per emotions are very good ....
*kuchh naa kaho, kuchh bhee naa kaho
kyaa kahanaa hain, kyaa sunanaa hain
muz ko pataa hai, tum ko pataa hain
samay kaa ye pal tham saa gayaa hain
aaur is pal mein, koee naheen hain
bas yek main hoo, bas yek tum ho
*The next one is in the voice of Lata ji & chorus .... a very nicely composed the voice of lata ji penetrates deep in the heart with the words make u feel sad...
*khoyee sab pahachaane, khoye saare apane
samay kee chhalanee se gir gir ke, khoye saare sapane
humane jab dekhe the, sundar komal sapane
fool sitaare, parabat baadal sab lagate the apane
dil ne kahaa choopake se:-** A Romantic song sung by Kavita Krishnamurthy. If Ek ladakee ko dekhaa........ is a feeling of a boy in love than this song is a feeling of a girls heart when she feels it first time ... In my opinon kavita krishnamurthy is one of the very talented female singers of todays times after Lataji and Ashaji.
*dil ne kahaa choopake se, ye kyaa huaa choopake se
kyo naye lag rahe hain ye dharatee gagan
maine poochhaa to bolee ye pagalee pawan
pyaar huaa choopake se, ye kyaa huaa
turuna turuna effect creates magic in this song ...
rimazim rimazim rumazoom rumazoom :-** this song sung by kumar sanu and Kavita Krishnamurthy. A romantic number beautifully composed again ... I love the way this song starts with Santur.......... creates a romantic feeling of rain drops .....
*rimazim rimazim rumazoom rumazoom
bheegee bheegee rut me, tum hum hum tum
chalate hai, chalate hain
bajataa hain jalatarang tin kee chhat pe jab moteeyo jaisaa jal barase
boondo kee ye ladee, laayee hain wo ghadee, jisake liye hum tarase
ruthh naa jaanaa tum se kahoo to :-** A naughty song sung by Kumar sanu ... ekraar aur inkaar ke beech ka safar ... pictuarised in a library makes it so convinsing ... priyatam ko manaanaa.
A very nice expression of feelings with music between Haa ya naa ...
*meree ye deewaanagee kabhee naa hogee kam
jitane bhee chaahe tum kar lo sitam
muz se bolo, yaa naa bolo
muz ko dekho, yaa naa dekho
ye bhee maanaa muz se milane aaoge nahee
saare sitam hasake main sahoo to
ye safar bahot hain kathheen magar:-** This song is sung by Shivaji Chattopadhyay , frankly speaking from the voice I thought it is sung by bhupendra
The song potraying hope of tomorrow ... a bit philosophical .. starts with two deep meaning lines ..
*dil naa ummeed to nahee, naakaam hee to hain
lanbee hain gam kee shaam magar shaam hee to hai
*the Jara Hate ke voice of the singer creats a wonderful picture of hope and pain ... see the beautiful wordings by javed saheb
*nahee rahanewaalee ye mushkile
ke hain agale mod pe manjile
meree baat kaa too yakeen kar
naa udaas ho mere humasafar
kabhee dhoondh legaa ye kaarawaan
wo nayee jameen, nayaa aasamaan
jise dhoondhatee hain teree najar
naa udaas ho mere humasafar
when I m finishing this review let me admit frnakly Romance and Patriotism both shades are my favourates, ths combination of two is u can say a favourate plot for me ... so I may be littlbit biased to judge and why not .............the other two deadly combinations RD Burman and Javed Akhtar are also there .....
A must have Album for Romance lovers ...
