Book that recites Indian college life and culture

Chetan Bhagat who is known for writing the experiences of a students college life in his books is often discarded by the other Indian mainstream literature writers. They rejects his creativity to include in the Indian Literature jargon, but his writings which is loved by almost all the youths of India has made his books to be the highest selling English novels in our country. 5point someone, Revolution 2020, Two States etc became so popular that they even attracted the attention of Bollywood directors to make movies on them. Specifically analysing his book named 2 States, it can be said as an anthology that has a very big hidden allegory , which deserves to be appreciated.

The cultural barriers between the North and south India has been beautifully casted in the book. True love can overcome any barriers, even can breach the cultural differences is the main theme of the stories mentioned in the book.

On first part, the story revolves around the rapport build between an IITian who had just join an IIM for MBA course and a southIndian Girl who also joins the same college. He has highlighted the life of an ordinary Indian students who often fall in love breaking the logjam of their mindset that is being developed by their parents. Geographical and cultural differences are valueless when compared with love.

In the mid half of the book, the relationship between the two lovers stands in the midst of extinction because of their belonging to the different culture s. A Punjabi guy and a South Indian girl both faces the ire of their respective families.

It is said that love is that bomd that is not easily broken by the artificial forces.

In the last part of the book, both the families understand and gives priority to the choice made by their children's and they agree for their marriage.

This story is very common and is faced by many youths in our country. The book when seen through the prism of romanticism deserves appreciation but analysing the book with respect to the content lies somewhere in between good and bad both.

As a reader, and lover of literature I would rate 3.2 stats out of 5
