I wonder had the title of the book been the same as ma review title the book would hav sold e1 a single copy.bt then its a book by chetan bhagat.who wouldnt pick it up.nw I read this book on ma lappy.ya I knw I was lucky to get an ebook :)
The book is about two IIM graduates who belong to two different states falling in love at campus and then the ordeal they undertake to convince their families for marriage.
The boy is 4m punjab and the girl is a tamilian. At times it feels like a fairy tale with the best girl of the college falling in love with a not so popular guy.The convincing of parents is not so convincing.Afterall koi agar ek powerpoint presentation bana dene se apni beti ko love marriage ke liye permission de deta toh this world wud hav been a different place.Nevertheless there is good humour at time of the punjabi wedding and the customs assoicated with it.It has a fairy tale ending where evrythn is set right at the end:)
No doubt the book would make a fab movie.tho I doubt whether chetan bhagat would we willing to do so after the recent controversy.but this isnt among the best books I have read. I read it in 1 sitting coz I wasnt sure I wud hav picked it up again l8r, bt then its a f9 read on a lazy sunday aftnun when u just wanna have a nice time laughing at our indian social customs and norms
The book successfully brings out the notions associated with marriage in our country. The boy is thot of as a cash certificate who has 2b encashed at the time of wedding. This book is for all age groups, e1 parents of teenagers.they will learn 2 understand their teenager kids better.
