Come FALL in LOVE !

Chetan Bhagat, whose writing style and topics are very contemporary, has provided us with another of his super-cool book. Like his first attempt, the "five-point someone" this book also keeps one totally engrossed in it throughout reading it. The whole experience of reading this marvel can be compared to watching a very suspense, thrilling and an exciting movie shot to Hollywood perfection with Indian characters.

His depiction of the typical Tamil Brahmin family is so true. The "Hindu" reading community, extremely educated, giving tremendous importance to dance and carnatic music is indeed one of the most respected communities down in the South. Being an Iyer myself, I can relate to a lot of the situations mentioned in the book. Compulsory carnatic music classes before my voice cracked used to be the norm, however, once I started liking the classes, my voice cracked and then the varnas-keerthanas were the last thing I would do!

Chetan Bhagat has aptly presented the characters and their roles. And since it’s based on his life, it makes the book all the more interesting. Although the book-reading experience can be compared to a movie-watching one, the story and events are quite relatable. And specially if you have been in love with a person outside your community, this book is a must read.

The digs that he has made at the Tamil Brahmin community could have been a bit less, although, he has provided more of an apology in the starting, saying, one can dig at only those people who you love. One wishes he had depicted his own family(and community) with such wit and humor. However, the father character provides not much scope for that. And the surprising climax at the end is sure to bowl us over.

Although, the young generation will love the book, I adivse those prospective couples, singles, wannabe lovers-couples, to present this book to their parents. Amazingly, even if they may not openly love the book the way we do, but they may develop some good sense with respect to our love and eventually help us get our love home.
