The only thing that I feel I really like about this movie is its title line "We were warned".
It appears as if it came with a statutory warning message that this movie is gonna suck.
Still I was too much of sci-fi movie freak that I went and gave it a try….sign
What to say? If you have seen ‘Deep Impact’, this will appear to be somewhat exaggerated version of the same.
It was a big chaotic mixture of the concept of end of world in religious scriptures, animation and some smart a** scientists goofed up badly.
It was intellectually insulting to see the underground technology of monitoring earth crust movement and whatever the stuff is called, lava…mantle etc etc to be called ‘Astrophysics’.I am sure Prof. Yashpal will jump high from his seat had he been made to see this movie.
Not just that….they call a clone of submarine and cruise ship a ‘Spaceship’, which was the ‘Noah’s Arc’ in the movie to save the human species and animals alike.
Till the end I was looking forward for it to take off to some new planet….but it keeps sailing on earth covered in water.
The only silver lining was showing that an Indian scientist discovers gives the predicament…and cool admittion that Chinese have the technology and expertise to build a ‘Spaceship’ at such a short notice.
It’s good to see the Americans accepting and rather glorifying these two facts. Coz Indians and Chinese are called the ICs of the Silicon Valley(FYI)
So much so to say I used to think only Bollywood ppl make clowns of themselves…But here you have ditto in Hollywood.
Had the movie been made with the technical details in the right place it wud have helped sci-fi enthusiasts like me appreciate the movie.
It’s high time the Hollywood and Bollywood hire some non-filmi techies/scientists to set the science factor straight in the movie(Hey even googling will help….atleast Wiki doesn’t go even that haywire with details as this flick)
May be kids can appreciate this flick with momma and daddy becoz of the COOL animations of earth sinking and erupting:-p
