What you don't know could hurt you

So you’ve been waiting for a good horror movie…some thing that will actually scare you. You see the previews of 28 Days later and it looks pretty decent. So finally….you convince a couple of friends (or you go alone if you’re a loser– that was a joke) and go see it.

What is it about?

A couple of animal activist on a mission to uncover the research being done on chimpanzees in a research center, unintentionally release “rage” on Britain. Rage is an infection that and makes the infected attack others. This is also how it spreads. One a person has had any kind of contact with an infected’s blood/ saliva through any opening in the body he/ she is also infected with rage. (So basically imagine a bunch of Zombies chasing normal people to eat them!!?)

We then have Jim wake up in the hospital 28 days later out of coma (??) to find the entire city in complete disarray and completely disserted. He goes out calling out to see if any ones there and finally goes into a church. Its dark and dungy and reeks. He goes in to the balcony only to find a heap of dead bodies. He calls out and then hears strange groaning sounds. Some of the bodies start stirring among the dead.

But this is not exactly good news…

Incase we still have some takers out there, who really want to see the movie (or are completely confused after reading this or don’t trust me or just want to go see it or want to write a better review of the movie...I shall refrain from giving it away any further.

few good scenes to look out for

  • The movies starts well with good pace and suspense that builds up for the chase which is another good scene.

  • starts like Resident evil…with this guy who wakes up 28 days later in a hospital and the entire city (London) is empty. Those are some pretty cool scenes.

-The scene in the tunnel when the taxi has a flat tire - this one keeps you glued.

The Down Side

the movies shows human nature as it may very well be but it loses grip on the story. It changes from the struggle between the normal people and the infected to the struggle between the normal people and the insane army?? --- I now have no doubt that all the actions of the American/ British army are based on self interest --- alluding obviously to more than just the movie.

Oh and its rated R for a reason!
