Five point someone

I really enjoyed all of Chetan Bhagat’s books so far and was very curious to see how Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani have dealt with in. I must say I came out of the movie feeling good.

Though it was based on Bhagat’s book five point someone, it had a nice cinematic presentation. Very often books are not as good on screen. This was an exception.

Seeing the movie, one could imagine the state of minds of kids who are not interested in a field but still are forced to do so due to parental pressure. The role of Boman who enacts the strict principal without a heart who is not even aware of how he drove his son to suicide was excellent.

The role of Madhavan as a student who actually wants to be a wildlife photographer was well suited to him. Sharman Joshi as the poor boy who works hard to do well and excel and of course Aamir as the brilliant engineer were all too good. The ambience of the college with bullies and good times thrown in was so real, that it gave a feeling of visiting a campus. Kareena was as usual good in the small role she had.

The songs in the movie were fitted in very well and did not seem a forced break. The twist in the film which was not in the book was the best part I liked. I wouldn’t mind watching it again.
