3 idiots is a great family entertainer full of college pranks. It has a pointer to the fact that education without passion & involvement just for the sake of parental ambition leads to frustration for one and all.
Has shades of "Taare Zameen par" & "Munna bhai MBBS". 3 idiots is largely based on chetan bhagat’s debut novel, "Five point someone"Raju Hirani as a director has done a great job again.Vidhu Vinod chopra as a producer has made a great entertaining movie again.
The story involves around 3 Idiots-Aamir khan(Rancho), Madhavan(Farhan), Sharman joshi(Raju).
Rancho is a class topper; passionate about engineering, enjoys his college life with booze & friends, airs his opinions on pointless education has tiffs with princi "Virus" played impeccably by Bomman Irani.
Rancho’s close chums are Raju and Farhan.Rancho is an innovator putting theory into practise;Believes education without passion for the subject is waste.Rancho also happens to fall in love with Virus’s daughter played by Kareena.
Raju comes from a poor family with a bed ridden dad & a slogging mother;Their aim in life is to see him land a great job after passing out of ICE( adapted from IIT).He comes out as a five pointer;so is Farhan, whose real passion is photography but slogs at ICE for his parents.
Virus is against Raju & Farhan piling up with Rancho as he believes that they are wasting their time with a happy go-non conformist.The trio enjoy them selves in college try short cuts and have hilarious confrontations with virus
There is also a serious Muggo TamBrahm(Chathur ramalingam).The mugged up speech(Hindi written in english font) tweaked by Rancho & co, delivered by Chatur to please Virus has the movie goers in splits of laughter." Virus" played by bomman irani is as impeccable as the professor in Munna bhai and leaves you in splits.Aamir as Rancho is great for a 44 year old playing an authentic, agile 22 year old student. Madhavan & Sherman are natural in their roles.
The trio’s selfless caring and sharing for each other leaves you emotionally charged. The Trio escape rustication after they help out Virus - whose daughter goes into emergency labour.
3 Idiots is a lovely movie.There is never a moment of slackness in the film.The audience sit on their seat’s end often & also roar into laughter again and again
I would strongly recommend this movie to all those looking for Great entertainment.
