It is not often that you come across an action packed movie that is so well made that you dont realise the length of the movie...300 is one of those rare movies...It depiction of a handful of 300 brave and fearless Spartan soldiers against the might of a ruthless Persian king is mesmerising...The Spartans under the guidance and leadership of the Great Leonidas played beautifully by Gerald Butler takes on the might of Persian king Xerces.
The fight sequences and the attacks are excellently portrayed...Two or three of the scenes are simply outstanding..The movie opens with an out of the world shot of a baby being lifted to the skies amidst human carcass...The other one is the millions of arrows being hurtled to the Spartans by the Persians that it eclipses the sky completely...The background score is haunting and takes the scenes forward..
The film, though an out and out action epic does have a number of bibliographical depictions like the trading of soul to the evil...The special effects are well done and some scenes like the chopping of body parts and head are depicted in all its blood and gore...300 is a certain recommendation, ..Dont miss this epic battle of a handful of brave Spartans against a Million soldiers of the Persian Land under the King who thinks himself to be God...
Sadly, the film is just 2 hours..Coz, films like this are meant to be watched over and over...As Mid Day, Mumbai edition had pointed out-" 300 is worth watching 300 Times" and a 5 stars rating...I will agree with them...300 certainly deserves two thumbs way up!
