There is no greater glory then to die in battle

First things first, this movie is not historically correct, neither does it claim it is. For anyone who knows about he battle of Themopylae and believes that the movie was an exaggeration of the truth, I agree with you. So with that trivial thing out of the way lets get down to the movie.

The movie is simply to put it a blood fest, its filled with action, violence and gore. If you are the kind of person who cannot stand war or gore, please go and watch pictures like Just Married (not that I have seen it or recommend it).

300 hundred is the story of how a group of determined, fearless and highly trained individuals can use geography to their advantage (which is historically correct), the movie has been directed  with  one objective to depict action and to show how men bleed in battle.

I firmly believe that any movie that depicts war should depict blood and gore in its entirety. Because in essence when a person stabs another there is blood. I agree that the movie is graphically explicit in terms of violence and I do not recommend this one for family viewing in anyway. All said and done the choreography of the stunts, the action sequences and the entire direction is brilliant, the slow motion scenes are brilliant and the director has spared no expense when it came to the CGI.

From the scene where a million arrows actually blot out the sun to the scene where the Spartans push the Persian soldiers of the cliff, the direction is amazingly done and deserves credit. Agreed the movie has a little overdose of CGI but the movie is an adaptation of a comic book.

To sum it is 300 worth it? Yes, do I recommend it yes! Is it everyone’s cup of tea? NO. If you are the kind of person who enjoyed Troy, Kill Bill, Xmen, The Matrix, this is the movie to watch. My recommendation for best action movie of the year so far.

As always no revealing the plot.
