I saw 36 ct frm a theatre nearby.i was xpecting yet another thriller frm abbas mustan.but wot I saw was a murder mystery told in a comic way. Mrs Sonia Chang (no clue who or where Mr Chang is) lives in a mansion the size of Buckingham Palace and owns a casino called ‘Hollywood’. She is murdered. All the other characters in the film – 8 of them – are possible suspects. All had a reason to visit the house on the night of the murder, after midnight. A couple even left things behind for which they need to return. The rest of the details hardly matter. Shahid and Kareena are one ‘pair’. Shahid needs money to fulfil his dream of becoming a hero. Ten lakhs is the going rate, it seems. For 15, the director will knock out the other hero by the interval. Kareena needs the cash coz, well, she’s walked out on a rich daddy and a slimy boyfriend. She is all alone in Mumbai and will soon need to shop for a new Manish Malhotra outfit. A few lakhs would come in handy, I guess. The Shahid-Kareena duo have found a ’25 lakh bearer cheque’ in the form of Sonia Chang’s missing toddler. All they gotta do now is return him to mommy and pick up their reward. At the airport, they encounter a bunch of weirdos – a gambler and his wife (Satish Kaushik and Tanaaz Currim), and a reformed gambler and his wife (Paresh Rawal and Payal Rohtagi). Yes, Bollywood’s ‘pataaka’ patni trend continues. Two fat, balding, not-so-good-to-look-at men married to rather young and good-looking wives. However, this time, to balance the equation we have the equally pataka Upen Patel. A new hunk has finally arrived. Salman is touching 40 and you never know when he might next be in jail. John is cute but needs to shave once in a while. And stop talking about his girlfriend. Upen, the women of India need you. And they say you have passed the first and most important test:‘Taking off your shirt and not looking like a hairy idiot’. Upen has some of the best – and the some of the worst dialogues in the film. His pick-up lines, I am sure, will be copied by lesser mortals. Unfortunately, they will get chappals and sandals in return… Oh, there’s Akshaye Khanna as well playing Inspector. And he’s pretty good. So are Shahid and Kareena, in fact. (Never thought the day would come when I’d say that!) The rest are amusing though unnecessarily loud in parts. The end, be warned, is bakwaas. But leading upto it, there’s enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. Laughing. anyways all in all an average fare.so keep ur brain at home n watch dis movie
