Originality is usually lacking in Abbas-Mustan films but most of the time their music makes up for it. That is a department they rarely miss with and as of late they’ve had Himesh Reshamiya composing a few memorable tunes for them ala Aitraaz and Humraaz. 36 China Town also has Himesh in the music director seat. As the promos suggest, it is a slick thriller starring Akshay Khanna , Upen Patel along with lovebirds Shahid and Kareena Kapoor. Though their pairing was quite cold in their last outing together -Fida, the chemistry seems to be very much fine this time around.
Aashiqui Meri
The album opens with pulsating Aashiqui Meri . Attitudes at high altitudes, fierce expressions, and a snobbish disposition, are the constant expressions on the faces of Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, while on screen adaptation of Aashiqui Meri. Off screen, Sunidhi glibly steals the show while Himesh goes a bit overboard with fake accents and discreet undertones, but the pulsating beats, contemporary usage of expressions , gets it foot tapping and bodies grooving .For more groovy stuff, tune into Akbar Sami remixed version. In the remix version upbeat orchestration compliments the hazy youthful feel of the track to the core. Lyricist Sameer keeps it simple yet
24X7 I Think of You
24X7 I Think of You is one track that is, in true terms, different ! An amazingly composed track, it has excellent musical arrangements, wonderful orchestra, western classical theme, great singing, tremendous chorus and charged up carnival-kind look and feel. Basically a duet by Shaan-Sunidhi Chauhan, it emerges with oomph on the soundtrack. Rendered by Sameer, the song happens to be an active piece all the way. As far as Shaan is concerned, he does his job pretty well. He is a classy singer and knows his onions well. Whilst Sunidhi too attracts with her vocals. This is definitely one of the top five songs to have arrived in Bollywood this year.
Dil tumhare bina
Dil tumhare bina, sung by Himesh and Alka Yagnik is in sweet rhythm. This song is the best one on the entire album. The track starts off well with the soft rhythmical music, which grows on ears easily and provides soothing pleasures. Both the vocalists do well with their respective jobs. Alka showcases her sweet voice accurately whereas the velvety Himesh displays the versatility and brilliancy of his skills perfectly. He is in his true elements. Background chorus gels well with the mood of the song.Sameer, getting drowned in ideas, pens superb https://lyrics. es.
Badi Dilchaspi
KK and Arya make a belated appearance but the wait seems to be for better as Badi Dilchaspi is one such track with which nothing can go wrong if presented on screen as well as the song is in itself. A song that should be a rage in coming days. Composed as a racy track that picks up the momentum from the word GO, it is very well complemented by Sameers lyrics that catch the nuances of the situation. After a while, the pitch of the song does rise but the essence of the number isnt lost as it remains romantic throughout.A song that is a decent bet to be played for your loved ones, it adds itself to the list of yet another reasons to go for 36 China Town.
Jab Kabhie
Another chartbuster in the making, Jab Kabhie by Alka and KK comes across as another beautiful song. A melodious love song that has smooth lyrics , it brings along an ice cool effect with it that moves you literally and does well in transferring you to a lovey-dovey mood.Alka justifies her superiority in in this genre of song while KK reaffirms that he is the best when it comes to echoing a lovers heart. A remixed version of same track is extremely foot tapping, composed completely as a western track and will definitely do well in the urban centers. A good dash of choreography and it could well be one of the most played songs in this side of the year.
All up 36 China Town is a youthful album that has all it takes to be popular. Be it the beats, the melody or the sheer foot tapping elements that are needed to reach out to people. After listening to the album, one may not remember a single word from the songs but what one takes home in the end is sheer vibrancy of all the tracks. Add to it the curiosity value attached to the title of the album and that should ensure its safe passage. Play it on when you have a party at home!
