The 4th !

The 4th Of July was written by Jim Patterson & Maxine Paetro. It was published by Little Brown & Co. in May 2005. I own the hard cover large print book and payed $20.00 CAD for it. The ISBN number is 0316710601.

My Review

This book is about a detective by the name of Lindsay Boxer. I takes place in the San Francisco Bay area.

Lindsay in involved in investigating a series of murders that have taken place in cheap hotels in San Francisco’s Tenderloin area.

The only clue is there is always a black Mercedes car in the area where the crimes happened.

A few weeks later in the same area the car is seen again. The car takes off at high speeds with Boxer in hot pursuit. It turns out badly and both Boxer and the defendant are charged with a wrongful death suite.

Boxer tries to avoid the publicity hides out at her sister Cat’s home that is south of the city in Half Moon Bay. She is just starting to unpack her suitcase when she is called to come and investigate a number of strange murders that have been happening in this village.

The local police aren’t too happy but they decide to work with her.

What attracts Boxer’s attention is that there are similarities between these murders and the first killing, (that was never solved), that she investigated when she was homicide detective 10 years ago.

Three people seem to be every where and try and stop her. If she solved one of the murders it could end her career. Solving one of the other ones could end her life.

If you want to know what happens I hope you’ll buy the book!!!!

What I Thought

This is one book in a series of thrillers. Each one is excellent.

Jim Patterson and Maxine Paetro are excellent authors and know how to thread the plot and sub-plots until the end of the book.

I found it interesting that they could write about Boxer’s trial when neither of them have any experience in Law.

My Conclusion

The 4th OF JULY is the best book in this new series and a good one to start with.

Other books I have read by Jim Patterson are The Angel Experiment, Honeymoon, London Bridges and Lifeguard.

Thanks for reading my review.
