My fav 5

It is very difficult to shortlist JUST 5 books out of many years of frenzied hungry reading - but let me try.

  1. White Mughals by William Dalrymple(I have loved all his books but this is the favourite)

Historical - moving - great character sketches and very well-researched as usual by Dalrymple.

  1. The Hungry Tide by Amitav Ghosh(I loved all his books but this is the favourite).

I love the way Ghosh always makes you feel as if you are in the place where the book is set.

  1. Meet Mr. Mulliner by P.G.Wodehouse(Wodehouse is God for me)

Wodehouse is my favourite - nothing beats the humour, the fun, the innocence in his books. Bertie Wooster is my favourite followed very closely by Mulliner.

  1. A Painted House by John Grisham

Takes you to the cotton fields where the book is set.

  1. The Orion(Antiquity of the Vedas) by Lokmanya Tilak

What a mastermind! Very well presented theory on the oldness of the vedas. Also, "The Arctic home of the vedas" by Tilak is also very good.

The above gives a fair picture of my choice of books. I have read thousands of books and the above are my favourites and on top of my mind.
