5 Spice is a well known brand of restaurants in Mumbai that is famous for serving some seriously lip smacking Chinese delicacies. I have tried famous restaurants like Aromas of China and Mainland China, even though the food there was pretty good I found is unreasonably expensive. 5 Spice is surprisingly affordable and the food is yummy as well.
Since I stay in Borivali, I frequent the Borivali branch often with my family. The ambience and décor of this place is quite pleasant. The décor is done up in dark wood with comfortable leather seating arrangements. The staff here is quite efficient as well. During the weekends the place is very crowded but they manage it efficiently.
Coming to the food, I love their Crispy Spinach Chicken, I have actually never eaten anything like it. I also like Butter Schezwan Prawns and Five Spice Fish. I often order the Kung Pao potato at home when I have guests over. It is quite popular and goes well with drinks. In the mains, I like Red Hot Dragon Chicken which is super yummy. Other favourites include Burnt Chicken on Hot Wok, Shangai Prawns and Lamb in Butter Chilly Sauce.
5 Spice is famous for its desserts. Sometimes I just go to 5 Spice in the evening with my wife and have dessert. Their Death by Chocolate will actually kill you, it is that good! I love their rocky road which has all the goodness of the world. I would also suggest you try Nutty Caramel and Oreo Cake.
I would give 5 Spice five stars. When it comes to Chinese food, 5 Spice has been and will be my first choice.
