5 - It wouldnt justice to the place if I started this review with anything but the number 5. I took my girl to The Restaurant 5 on our anniversary - I wanted it to be special and as it turned out it was pretty much so.
With valet parking to ease your mind off, right from the start - parking in that area is a pain , trust me - the complete experience there is quite perfect.
The inside is cosy, chic and the clientele are trendy, very trendy.
The staff is not only very friendly and helpful but also extremely knowledgeable of the food they serve, which is something I find lacking in a lot of places.
The menu is very well laid out and quite explanatory, so non gourmets like yours truly do not have to guess and pick.
They have these cute candles on every table that accent the coziness of the place. While you are waiting for your meal to be served you can nibble on the baskets of different varieties of bread and the most delicious olives.
The food is very delicious, though for an always hungry couple like my girl and me, the tiny morsels in our plates made us chuckle and wonder if there was something at home to munch on.
In all it was a delicious and very romantic experience. I would give this place a 10/10 for impression points - you want to impress your date, bring her here.
Last, but so definitely not the least - to use the cliché in a different way - was the bill. We had the lobster, prawns and some lamb and the bill came to about Rs.900. Add up a nice tip - the guy serving us definitely deserved it - and you have your complete dining experience for a well rounded 1000 bucks.
Before I fly away:
There is one more small but really nice gesture from the host there that has left pleasant memories. Now my lady and me look really young and easily mistaken for teeny bopper college students. At the end of our meal we asked the host if they accepted credit cards. He might have felt that we could have had a small problem with the bill, so he so very sweetly told us that if there was a problem we could always settle the tab later..
I did not require it that day, but a very nice and friendly gesture anyway..
