This book ranks as one of the most useful books I have read. The book starts with the premise that it is certain habits that make people effective. It goes on to enlist these universal habits. These habits, according to the author, are universal and not culture dependent.
Some of these habits are Be proactive, have an end in mind, synergize and think win win and sharpen the saw. Though many of them are obvious, it does make sense to have these listed in organized format.
Though the book may not be very inspiring or motivational, its teachings are much closer to reality as compared to motivational books.
The book generally uses managerial terminology, which may be a little difficult for those who are not well –versed with the language.
Pros – Realistic, Useful
Cons – Boring, non- inspiring and non-motivational for some, intermediate level English
