OK in Moderation is My Verdict !

You know 7 Up has a rather fascinating history. It was once known as Bib Label Lithianated Lemon Lime Soda but that is quite a mouthful, isnt it, , so wisely its name was changed to the easy to say 7 Up.

The stuff was invented in the USA in 1929 by Charles Leiper of the Howdy Corporation and it very quicky became widely available in soda fountains, cafes and vending machines that mushroomed in the States. Later it was exported all around the world, including, of course, India.

It has a number of competitors, I suppose Sprite being the most obvious one.Indirectly it also competes with the likes of Dr Pepper, Coca Cola , Pepsi Cola, Miranda, Mountain Dew and a host of others,

This lemon line soda is I find quite refreshing and it is reputed to have a slightly lower sugar content than some other soft drinks. I think it is slightly less syrupy sweet than some of its competitors. It is available in cans and bottles and is easily found in grocers and in many major supermarkets.

It is a drink I have from time to time but I do not recommend that you consume too much of it. It still does contain sugar and other substances that are not the healthiest ingredients in the world.

The final verdict ? A reasonably refreshing lemon lime soda that is OK drunk in moderation.

Thanks very much for reading !
