For an average audience, 8x10 Tasveer is an average entertainer which worth a watch if going to it without much expectation. It isa suspense thriller with some supernatural powers plays half the trick and the long lost stories returning to mainstream fills the other half. Akshay Kumar is the life blood of the film. I often felt that the story could have been told in the Indian background than in the west which made the film outsider in the first half at least, before the suspense take over from the intermission. The climax however didnt satisfy the audience expectations for them to leave the hall before the last song begins onscreen. Cinematography is one thing along with Akshays screen presence made the film an experience to watch, otherwise the film is an average fare without much to offer. Ayesha Takia still looks insecure in bollywood. Javed Jaffri is excellent, both his character and his acting. A time pass movie for a weekend.
My rating: 2.5 stars.

For a viewer who appreciate art, who look beyond the obvious and search for hint to get entertained, well, the movie do have something to offer as well.
Happiness! That is what we all look in our life. When we are happy, our face will say it out with a white smile and when we are feeling bad we will wear a cloudy black face cover. When we replace the Y with an I, the self takes its place and happiness will become an occasional visitor. To remain on the happy state we should be on our guard but should say yes on many occasions. To maintain the happiness the law should be protected so that even when we feel it is dead, there is some weapon left to fight and help ourselves. The film is attribute to the cause – Happiness.
Greed - how far it can lead us to kill our enemies and even our relatives? Doubt, how we can even distrust our own blood and plan to kill them? When we work for the protection of others and pretend we are doing great things, are we ready to sacrifice our own wealth for the cause? One who chases money, power and sex will feed to the greed in us and work as partners in our crime. They think that the truth can be killed with their false plans. The film is a prayer for the success of truth!
A picture is the technique human beings developed to stop time for a split second and convert to paper or in digital form. The masters had told us that the entire universe is hiding in a cell. The masters also told that the past, present and future is NOW!! A picture, when you view from different eyes tells a different story. Each expression has a story to tell and the backgrounds offer many clues about the past and present for the future. We are often told not to look at things from a different angle, in its real way as truth may be bitter. We are only souls who can see, feel and alter pictures of time. A happily lived moment always stay with us and our own bad adventures haunt even if we try to destroy it. We cannot destroy time or a moment.
Having said it all, the symbols were not compelling and the clues were less expressive. The director took a purposeful delaying of the central theme which took away the audience interest and when he tried to pour all as a surprise at the end, it was too late. By unfolding it with the climax where the audience is more interested in observing the real turn of events than the symbolic messaging the director lost the game and even I think the story is not well told. The director had good intentions but failed to give a good decoration. The structuring of the story could have been better. Still, the cause need to be promoted and it will give some reason for celebration, especially for students who seek. In that base, the film is a good attempt which could have been much better if the director tried a bit on restructuring the story and give an earlier warning to the audience. Also, the subject concentration was missing. A good watch, not exceptional though.
My rating: 3.5 stars.
