Ramsays’ angry ’ghost ghost na raha’.what kinda ghost is this looks remarkably like a human being . Do not expect Ramu dada to make ’worldly’ movies . Earlier if it was the underworld now it is the out of the world . Let’s see what is in store (room) for us , besides ghosts.
The storyline - Aakha Mumbai mein AjayD finds just one flat good enough for him to purchase , wo bhi hounded ( hai re kismat).’tumne isko Manjeet ke bare mein bata diya hai na ’? the owner asks the property dealer. ’main bhoot-whoot per yakin nahi karta , bus mujhe jald-se-jald ’shift karo de’...FastForward...Thw way UrmilaM tries to enact the ghost in the abandoned mirror she was bound to attract the attention of some ghosts. ’Ek zinda bhoot jab ek mare hue bhoot se mile toh isse bade ’bhoot-wale’ baat aur kya ho sakte hai ?’. By the way the Bhoot is not alone and is with her 5 years old sidekick , who does nothing throughout the movie , bas chup kar ke khada rehta hai .(Baccha hai yaar !! bhoot hai toh kya hua , hai toh baccha hi aur waise bhi bhoot bhi toh insaan hi hote hain na )Bhoot inside Um starts venturing out. kabhi bahar kabhi aander kabhi kise doosre ke gher ke aander .Doctors say that she has become a sleep-walker later they claim that she’s suffering from Multiple Personality Disorder. (MPD my foot !! Bhootni ke , bhoot main hu yatu ) ... FastForward...Ad tries his best to get her back to normal so that they could indulge in some ’never as break dance’ but Um keeps driving him to ’nervous breakdown’. Phir ek din (raat)...Um ventures out & is back in a while (jaise ki kuch hua ki na ho ).. agle din.. Inspector Nana enters..Ek chaukidaar ki maut...chaukidaar aage , face piche ( this chaukidar must have turned his face ’’ForwardBack’ in order to get the view of the passing by kudi). nana.. ye murder hai . I want all the details , everything including ’kauphy’. VictorB (whose daughter is battling death in a hospital)decides to take the case in his hands ..daughter dies.. vb ko Um mein apne bete nazar aate hai (houseful hai bhaiya , ek bhoot already hai aander)...FastForward...Aaj-ka-kaam-khatam Ad ko batate hai .. saab ye manjeet ki aawaz hai i’m dead sure , aap rekha se milo. enters rekha .. enters Tanuja.. Majneet is back .The secret unfolds [Assuming that all who had to watch the movie has already seen it , i’m unfolding the secret .Those yet to watch the movie may skip the paragraph]. Flat owner ka beta(fardeenK) manjeet ke saath ’gande baat’ karna chahta hai . now manjeet being a ’aache ladki’ refuses to do so. Bas phir kya tha.. ’ganda beta’ chaukidaar ke sath milker.. Khallas.. Finally Manjeet Fk is Izzat sabke samne pure ki pure mitti mein mila dete hai. something like ’ab iska band bajega’. Nana throws his behind the bars. B(h)oot out , story ends.
Pros - The opening sequence is quite ingenuine and exquisitely executed.The movie has it’s share of thrills & chills, watch out Um dragging the teddy, Rekha passing through the boy-ghost, Um watching T.V, Um trying to enact the ghost in the mirror and you will know that horror movies and not only about bade-bade haath aur lal-lal aankhein . Background score is haunting .Thankfully we don’t get to see the usual song and dance routine in the movie .Watch Nana with his one-liners.techically it’s a polished movie , what we call ’Bhoot-polish’.
Cons - Jisse-darte-the-wohi-baat-ho-gaye story. How often have we seen this ’gande baat’ aur ’aache ladki’ story . The only difference being that that the ’aache ladki’s’ aache bhai takes revenge . Here , since Manjeet is the only child ( aur beta bhi toh chota hai) she ’s left with no choice but to come back and clear up all the mess herself.The secret was a ’boring surprise’. Bhoot mein bhoot nahi hota toh jayada aacha hota was what I thought and heard many saying.
Ad - Not much to do.
Nana - Not much to do.
Um - Bardast-nahi-kar-sakta kinda overacting.
Rekha - Nothing to do.
Fk - Nothing to do.
Vb - Not much to do ( wait for Jogger’s park).
Bhoot fell much below my expectations. I’m unable to fathom how was the movie scaring at all . Ok it wasn’t funny in the grab of a horror movie but it wasn’t scaring, was it ?
