LET US KNOW OUR UNIVERSE

Title: - Black Holes & baby universes & other essays

First, I give my comments from the deepest of my heart?.

A fascinating, remarkable, original scientist ?? he is.

An original work, which genuinely tried to bring a complex issue of Black holes and universes before the simple, lay man like me, in a completely non complex configuration of material, imagination, mathematics, scientific theory.

There are in TOTO 14 chapters starting from his own childhood until the recent theories he worked upon. I will say that one should not start reading this book trying skipping method. For a simple reason that Stephen Hawking?s life and his all sufferings & celebrations are in fact responsible to make him reach to the target of being world?s most spectacular Theoretical Physicist. Yes! His journey is clearly an outcome of a deepest care of Mrs. Jane Hawking and some of his research students. I could only say in this regard that Jane was a shining star showing him, supervising his path through her light of Care & Concern all the time. If Jane was not with Stephen, I cannot comment but say probably he would have been into a black hole. My tribute to JANE.

Let me go through chapters quickly?.

v Chapter-5 ? A BRIEF HISTORY of the brief History?

This chapter actually mentions about his work named in the frame of first book ? The brief History of time? which rises first time on the globe, an interest about Space and so called Universe. I can only suggest that this book also be read with a focus and Mind set to become just aware?. after all what is a human perspective about Time & then turned into Space. It also raises our spiritual thinking whether there was enough back up with us to understand a nature?s significant work known as UNIVERSE. He also mentions the work of older scientists and theorists Newton, hiesenberg, Chadwick and others.

v Chapter-4 ? Public Attitude towards Science?

I request my readers not to get annoyed because I am reviewing chapter-5 before chapter-4.

The only reason is my attitude towards science is also with a perspective of spiritual side.

Stephen has helped through his first work & is successful in creating awareness for a common layman like me (who just studied some physics and engineering by Gods grace & also certainly my parent?s hard work did give great help) about TIME AND SPACE in daily life.

It was other wise difficult for public to go through theories of Great contributors. Stephen himself wrote in the preface of his first book? The brief History of Time? and in other book by Kitty Ferguson ? Quest for a theory of every thing?, that the first edition trials of ? This Brief His?.? Was a failure because it had a scientist like language and full of Disastrous mathematics. Later this book was withdrawn & simple version came into the market u all know the result?. Stephen also explains very simply in a common human affair like manner that he also needed money to pay the school fee of his daughter, hence he needed to write the book.

v Chapter?7 ? Is the End in Sight for Theoretical Physics?

Here Stephen has put efforts to drill deep into the hearts of public by bringing out the idea towards what the Theoretical physicist actually work. He clarifies that so far people have understood the meaning os science is some differential equations and some laws to which we have tried to tie up all our works and explanations.

However, the same is not showing applicable to the issue of big vast UNIVERSE. Probably one needs something calle ? Boundary conditions that tells us the state of some regions of the universe at a considered time and what are the other effects which are propagating into it from the rest of the universe. Stephen?s here is indicating that he is concentrating his work towards testing his assumptions to create a unified theory. In my views it mentions something like ? Why did GOD in fact needed to make some thing called UNIVERSE.?

v Chapter?11 ? Black Holes & baby Universes?

Here I got the history of Black holes. I mean it was propounded much before Stephen stated to think about black holes. A scientist named Mitchell already propounded this idea. Stephen through the use of various other theories found that the so-called BALACK holes are not completely dumped holes. They infect radiate some particle which could come out from the surface of Black holes but by the uncertainty principle of quondam mechanics it is not certain to find out ? could one recognize the particle with respect to its shape and size.

Many more ideas come after to the head raising a common person?s knowledge about such spiritual and scientific theories.

I have given reviews of only the chapters, which created public interest.

I am now preparing to read his latest ? the larger space time structure?

I also feel that the SPACE-TIME thinking of the universe and its boundary conditions will become clearer if one reads ? Quest for a Theory of every thing? Kitty Ferguson.
