This year bollywood suffered major setbacks. None of the film was super-duper hit. In my opinion 5 best movies of 2002 were -
1. RAAZ - Raaz, perhaps was the most successfull film of the year. Its music filled the hearts of people with melodious pleasure. It was a different movie, that’s why it did well.
2. DEVDAAS - Devdaas, most people say that it was the most successfull film of the year. But, I do not agree with this. As compared to its production cost, it did nothing. Its music failed on the expectations. Only, one song Dola Re Dola was a hit.
3. HUMRAAZ - Humraaz, was a thriller hit of the year. This movie was a hit because of its beautiful screenplay which developed curiosity among the public. This movie was a murder mystery.
4. THE LEGEND OF BHAGAT SINGH - This was a periodic film. On the same script 3 movies were released in a span of 1 month. But, this picture gathered the most public.(In my personal opinion, this was the best movie of the year).
5. KAANTE - We cannot regard Kaante as a hit, but its bumper opening at the end of 2002 gives it the credit. Its music is quite good. Its crew is mainly from Hollywood and that is what makes it different.
So, in my opinion these were the top 5 movies of the year. Beside them Sur, Dil Hai Tumhara, Deewanagi, Mujhse Dosti Karoge, Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai etc etc etc all failed .
