I purchased Havells ES50, 5 star rated Energy saving fan in Bangalore. It was fine during the summer as i used to run it at a high speed. But when the winter turned in, I try to set the speed to 2, it doesn’t run at at that speed. It runs way fast and makes me uncomfortably cold. At Speed 1 it becomes very slow. After following up with Havells for 4 times (4 complaints of which 2 are online and 2 are over telephone) there was one technician who visited my house and said this is how this product will work. I use Havells 5 speed electronic regulator and I have 3 of these in my house. All of them behave the same way.
How can I expect to buy a fan from a company like HAVELLS and expect the product not to have proper speed control. I am very very unhappy after buying this fan and recommend not to buy unless you want to run the fan at full speed all the time. Looks like its not designed to run at different speed.!! :(
Also there is no technical person who answers the toll free customer care to understand the problem. They just take a complain and assign the ticket to a local technician who has a standard answer.
