HERO PASSION PRO TR REVIEW

An attempt to create an adventure motorcycle out of a small 100cc power plant, the Passion Pro TR will prove to be a handy motorcycle for traversing through rough terrain, particularly in rural areas. The Passion Pro TR has been armed with different off-road tyres, a headlamp grill, a bash plate for the engine, knuckle guards, a raised front fender with tyre hugger and a new handlebar with cross brace. While these upgrades might not actually aid the motorcycle’s ability of handling the harsh terrains, they surely do enhance its aesthetic appeal. To complement the off-roader look, the Passion Pro TR also gets fuel tank pads, restyled mirrors and comes clothed with new decals and three new paint schemes - black with sports red, electric blue and sports red.

The Passion Pro TR is powered by the same four-stroke single-cylinder engine that is used in a majority of 100cc commuter motorcycles from Hero MotoCorp. The engine pumps out 7.7bhp and 8Nm of torque, through a four-speed gearbox. Braking power is provided by a disc brake in the front and a drum brake at the rear.

Engine & Performance

The engine powering the TR is the same which powers all the Hero commuters. The 97.2 cc motor produces 7.7 BHP @ 7500 rpm and 8.04 NM @ 4500 rpm. The 4-speed standard gearbox feels smooth in every ride and the overall dynamics perform in the favour of the newcomer. The increased weight does not affect its performance and the bike feels as good as all other Hero commuters.

Brakes & Suspension

The braking at the front is handled by a 240 mm disc brake whereas the rear gets the usual 130 mm drum braking system. Both the front and back tyre get the off road tyre design with larger tread blocks for better grip. The wheel size being used is 18 inch and the front suspension is the telescopic hydraulic forks. The rear gets a swing arm type shock absorbers which are 5-step adjustable. The overall weight goes up to 119 kg, with 12.80 liters of fuel tank capacity.
