The first thing I saw of “Hitch” was a poster that was down my road and when I first looked at the poster I thought “Oh well here is another romantic comedy”. It looked like a film that would not be remembered or be really great. I had no expectations of a film called hitch. I walked to my phone booth because I had to make a phone call and I saw a poster of Will smith smiling and leaning and it said “Don’t get hung up, give her a call” at that time I was thinking of giving my friend a call who I missed a lot and she means more to me as a mate and I was going to ask her out. I ignored that poster, but I watched the movie just 1 hour ago I was so surprised on to how true a movie can be, especially about girls, people here is my review of the so called funniest movie of the year HITCH!
THE STORY!
Alex (Will smith) is known as a so called date doctor, he is a consultant for men who need the opportunity to win over the girl they love. Alex is very good at his job and he has helped a lot of people. In comes Albert (Kevin James) a guy that needs help with a girl more then anyone Albert is clumsy and he is very shy of a guy. He wants to win over this girl whose husband once owned Sweden, This girl happens to be very pretty and Albert is clumsy and not very good looking. While Alex is helping Albert with his problems he falls into love himself with a gossip columnist Sara (Eva Mendes), everything goes smooth until a friend of Eva is treated badly by a guy that took consultant from Alex. Eva wants to find this date doctor and teach him a lesson what happens is what you have got to see, In the UK its out on DVD as of yesterday, Quickly get this DVD fast and enjoy it for yourself.
WHAT MAKES HITCH WORK!
Hitch has it moments of awesome comedy scenes there are a few scenes that makes you laugh like crazy.
. When Albert accidentally quits his job and went too far because of a women
. When Alex teaches Albert to dance to impress the one he loves
. When Alex teaches Albert how to kiss.
There are many other funny scenes if I tell you all of them that’s me telling you at least 65% of the movie, Watch it for yourself and laugh like crazy
There are also a lot of facts about girls which you can learn from in this film, also a lot of liners that can make you score with the ladies e.g.
When Alex likes this girl at the bar and she is over crowded by guys and mostly all girls don’t like being over crowed by strange guys. Alex goes up to the women and gives her 20 plus bucks and says “send a few wines to this table please” Purposely knowing she don’t work there as a waitress and still doing that. The women is shocked as Alex walks away and the girl with her attitude runs up to Alex and says “Hey I don’t work here”. He pulls a few liners which she might not be impressed by, which was his plan and as she walks away he grabs her hand and says “I knew you don’t work here” I just wanted to get you away from those guys”
A few things in this movie guys can learn from. This movie is very emotional at the last 30 minutes or so, you might think “oh crap the comedies gone now it’s the crappy girly emotion moments at the end”. Trust me its nothing like that, the emotional parts are done very good and are not boring we need the emotion to get the story going, it ain’t very heavily shown. Its not one of those films where you would go for a tissue. Boys and girls would enjoy this movie a lot especially youths and people looking to date or are shy.
PERFORMANCES
Will Smith as Alex Is amazing, He is defiantly playing better characters for me this looked like a challenging person to play. The delivery for the dialogs has to be spot on if you want to be a consultant. His facial expression is also great when he first meets Albert and he is looking at him eating lunch on the steps when Albert spills his soda. Wills facial expression looks real and like a consultant. Will also looks very good in the movie with his cloths and his shades, his style of talking as well I am sure every guy would want to be an Alex.
Eva Mendes as Sara looks good in this movie and has also done a fine job, her acting is okay nothing huge but it does look like a character anyone could play, its nothing new or big like Alex’s character.
Kevin James As Albert is also very good his reaction when he quit his job was amazing his hot temper when he reads the article and trashes the news stand store is amazing to watch. Maybe people might say a FAT Jim carry wannabe. But he has delivered a knock out performance he should be proud about.
VERDICT
Go watch the film with your friends and have a good time I highly recommend this film to all guys to watch and trust me I think you will enjoy this movie, Go watch this movie now OR get it On DVD trust me it’s a worth a watch at least once.
